Nestled in the charming town of Newtown, PA, La Stalla stands out as a refined Italian restaurant where traditional flavors meet contemporary flair. From the moment you step through its doors at 18 Swamp Rd, you are greeted with a rustic yet elegant ambiance that invites you to savor every bite. Whether dining inside the cozy, classically adorned space or enjoying the scenic outdoor seating beneath a pergola, La Stalla delivers an authentic Italian experience that delights all your senses.
The heart of La Stalla is undoubtedly its thoughtfully curated menu, featuring standout dishes that have become favorites among locals and visitors alike. The Lobster Ravioli melts on the tongue, showcasing a perfect blend of sweet lobster enveloped in delicate pasta, while the Black Truffle Sacchetti offers an earthy, aromatic punch with tiny pasta purses stuffed with ricotta and black truffle mushrooms, all bathed in a roasted almond and sage butter sauce that lingers on your palate. Fans of hearty classics will revel in the Chicken Parmigiana and the Veal Milanese, which arrive breaded, pan-fried to golden perfection, and paired with fresh arugula and vibrant tomato bruschetta.
Appetizers such as the Bruschetta Caprese—featuring crostini bread topped with luscious mozzarella and fresh chopped tomatoes—and the indulgent Whipped Ricotta with truffle honey and pistachios, set the stage beautifully for the courses to come. For those seeking the sea’s best, the Branzino and Risotto Con Gamberi (sautéed shrimp with asparagus and a hint of lemon zest) provide a light but deeply satisfying option.
The dessert offerings are no afterthought here; the Tiramisu and Cannoli are fantastic finales, each bite offering a sweet, creamy, and decadently smooth culmination to your meal. Pair your edible journey with a crafted cocktail, an Irish Coffee, or a zesty Limoncello Flute, and you’ve got the perfect balance of flavor and ambiance.

We dined in for dinner. Everything was really good and the staff were really nice. I didn’t expect it to be that busy on a Wednesday night but it was maybe because we’re in a heat wave so not many people sat outside so it was good that we made a reservation. We started with the bruschetta, eggplant, and calamari which were all delicious then I got the ravioli al pomodoro which was good. For dessert we had lava cake with icecream which was rich chocolate and tasted amazing. Definitely a high end restaurant and would recommend for any date night or family night.
Our server Samantha was great! We enjoy trying new places and we were impressed with the family style rustic indoor/ outdoor seating and sitting under the pergola... beautiful. It sort of transported us to a recent dining experience in Greece. Loved the octopus salad. Loved the Rigatoni Carbonara..that we took the left overs and had it for dinner two days later and it was just as good...and we never take away restaurant left overs which means 1- the portions were great 2- the food was outstanding. We will definitely be back!
I was only here two times...but I enjoyed both my visits. Our servers were young and inexperienced, but friendly, accommodating, and hard working. The bartenders are very friendly as well. I rate the food between good and excellent. The portions are decent. The ambiance is rustic and cozy, yet classy...and their patio is gorgeous. On our second visit, we were lucky enough to hear their in-house "opera singer" sing "happy birthday" several times, operatic style. I think he works in the kitchen. Honestly, I cannot wait to go back.
This is a 10/10 for us EVERY SINGLE TIME. The food is spectacular but this time our server was even better. She heard our needs from across the room without being asked. We only photo'd dessert... its the best part hehe
